WINEMAKER NOTES
2008 Masseto – Tuscany’s Cult Merlot
The 2008 Masseto is a pinnacle of Tuscan winemaking, crafted exclusively from Merlot grown on the prestigious clay-rich soils of the Masseto vineyard. As one of Italy’s most coveted and collectible wines, Masseto defines elegance, depth, and power within the Tuscany landscape.
Tasting Notes
Opening with seductive aromas of blackberry, plum, and graphite, the wine reveals layers of espresso, dark chocolate, and violets. The palate is richly textured yet remarkably poised, with notes of ripe black fruits, minerality, and a refined, velvety finish supported by polished tannins.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Produced entirely from hand-harvested Merlot grapes, the 2008 vintage underwent fermentation in temperature-controlled oak vats, followed by aging in **100% new French oak barrels** for approximately **24 months**. Masseto’s distinctive terroir, a rare vein of compact blue clay, imparts power and structure while maintaining vibrancy and finesse.
Investment & Collectibility
The 2008 Masseto continues the estate’s legacy of producing highly sought-after wines that command top auction prices worldwide. Its limited production, critical acclaim, and exceptional aging potential make it a crown jewel for collectors. Perfect for your collection.
