Tasting Notes
The nose reveals aromas of apricot compote, orange marmalade, honey, and toasted almond. On the palate, the wine is layered and expansive, offering candied citrus, ripe stone fruit, and delicate spice framed by vibrant acidity. Despite its richness, the wine remains precise and lifted, finishing long with notes of caramelized citrus and mineral nuance.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
The blend is dominated by Semillon with a smaller proportion of Sauvignon Blanc harvested through multiple passes to capture berries affected by noble rot at optimal ripeness. Fermentation occurs in new French oak barrels followed by extended aging that enhances texture and aromatic complexity. The warm and favorable conditions of the 1990 growing season provided ideal botrytis development.
