Long admired for its balance and understated power, La Fleur-Petrus consistently delivers wines that emphasize texture, purity, and longevity over excess.
Tasting Notes
The bouquet reveals ripe plum, black cherry, and subtle floral tones layered with graphite and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is supple yet structured, showing polished tannins and a core of dark fruit supported by fresh acidity. Hints of spice and mineral notes emerge toward the finish, which is persistent and composed, reflecting the estate’s hallmark restraint.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
The blend is dominated by Merlot with supporting Cabernet Franc, sourced from low-yielding vines planted on well-drained gravel and clay. Vinification focuses on gentle extraction to preserve aromatic clarity, followed by aging in French oak barrels to integrate structure while maintaining finesse. The cooler 2008 growing season favored freshness and balance.
