WINEMAKER NOTES
2007 Eisele Vineyard – A Benchmark Napa Valley Cabernet
The 2007 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon represents a defining vintage from one of Napa Valley’s most historic and pedigreed terroirs. Located in Calistoga at the northeastern edge of the valley, the Eisele Vineyard has been revered since the early 1970s for producing site-transparent, age-worthy Cabernet. The 2007 vintage is often cited as one of the finest of the decade in Napa, and this wine captures that excellence with restraint and complexity.
Tasting Notes
This vintage opens with lifted aromatics of cassis, sage, and crushed rocks, transitioning to a core of dark plum, cedar, and fine-grained tannins. The palate is polished and balanced, with linear structure and a mineral-driven finish that reflects the site's gravelly soils. There’s an effortless depth to this wine, showing harmony between ripeness, power, and elegance.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Sourced entirely from the biodynamically farmed Eisele Vineyard, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was vinified with native yeasts and aged in 100% new French oak for 18 to 20 months. The vineyard’s unique alluvial soils over volcanic cobblestone give the wine its signature precision and freshness. Rigorous sorting and gentle extraction techniques preserve the site’s purity and balance.
Investment & Collectibility
The 2007 Eisele Cabernet is a foundational wine for serious Napa collectors. Its aging curve remains impressive nearly two decades after harvest, and its limited availability enhances its value in both private cellars and auctions. Perfect for your collection, especially if you are curating landmark Napa vintages or site-specific expressions.
Vintage Insights
2007 was a textbook vintage in Napa Valley—marked by dry weather, a long growing season, and cool nights that preserved acidity. The result is wines with concentration, clarity, and balance. Eisele Vineyard’s gravelly, well-drained soils allowed for early uniform ripening, producing Cabernet of exceptional finesse and structure.
