Unwinding in the glass with aromas of raspberries, smoky cherries, rich soil tones and warm spices, Roumier's 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière is medium to full-bodied, lively and vibrant, with a fleshy core of fruit framed by youthfully chalky tannins that assert themselves on the finish. The most underrated wine in the Roumier cellar, this is a fine prospect for the patient. Reviewed by William Kelley. Issue Date: January, 2021. Drinking window: N/A.

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de la Bussière 1er Cru has a lovely, well-defined nose of dark berry fruit, sous-bois and a touch of ash. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and just a touch of bitterness that imparts welcome edginess. Showing fine depth, this is not overly complex, but there is decent length. There's potential, but it needs to foment more personality. This is certainly not one of Roumier's best cuvées this vintage, though this is often not one of his strongest cards. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. Reviewed by Neal Martin. Issue Date: September, 2023. Drinking window: 2026 - 2040.
2019 Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier Clos de la Bussiere, Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru, France
Domaine Georges Roumier has a rich and fascinating terroir cultivated with passion and philosophy by Christophe Roumier.
Georges Roumier wines are complex; they combine lightness and intensity, grace and length on the palate. But for Christophe Roumier, “There is no Roumier style but rather a Roumier philosophy. Its winemaking is there to reveal each terroir, each appellation!”
