Provenance & Masters Behind the Bottle

Founded in 1986 by Jean Phillips, a former real estate agent, Screaming Eagle swiftly gained a reputation that belied its youth. Ownership shifted in 2006 to Charles Banks and Stanley Kroenke, with the latter eventually becoming the sole proprietor. The winemaker at the helm is Nick Gislason, a revered craftsman who previously worked with Harlan Estate.

Vineyard & Craftsmanship

Nestled in the Oakville AVA of Napa Valley, Screaming Eagle's vineyard covers a modest 57 acres. However, it is the grape selection that truly sets this producer apart. A meticulously curated blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc contributes to the wine's signature complexity and depth. The soil consists of well-drained, rocky loam, an ideal medium for these varietals.

Aging & Investment Value

Screaming Eagle's wines are renowned for their impressive aging potential, often peaking 15 to 20 years post-vintage. This makes them not only a gustatory pleasure but also a wise investment.
