Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Roumier's 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses was showing very well, bursting with aromas of blood orange, peonies, raspberries and plums. Medium to full-bodied, sumptuous and seductive, it's velvety and succulent, with a deep core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, perfumed finish. Reviewed by William Kelley. Issue Date: January, 2021. The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has one of the more classically-styled, reserved bouquets amongst its flight. Exhibiting more tertiary elements, this is exquisitely defined by presence rather than horsepower. The palate is very well balanced and lush, but not overpowering, with touches of Kirsch and orange rind, and a sprinkling of white pepper. Quite long and with a soupçon of exoticism toward the finish in keeping with the vintage, this is pure class. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. Reviewed by Neal Martin. 2019 Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny, Cote de Nuits, France
Domaine Georges Roumier has a rich and fascinating terroir cultivated with passion and philosophy by Christophe Roumier.
Georges Roumier wines are complex; they combine lightness and intensity, grace and length on the palate. But for Christophe Roumier, “There is no Roumier style but rather a Roumier philosophy. Its winemaking is there to reveal each terroir, each appellation!”
