TERROIR
The Grand Enclos de Las Cases contains a lot of complexity. Originating mostly from graves of the Quaternary on gravel-sableous and gravelargileous underground, there are also more or less deep and compact clay, sometimes even affluent. The proximity of the Gironde is responsible for this great diversity of soils, created over the course of geological periods by successive superpositions. In addition, the river generates a very specific microclimate that allows for a very early ripening of the grapes and protects the vineyard from frostbite. This combination of geological combinations influences the development of the vineyard and the constitution of the grapes. This unparalleled terroir gives the great wine its unique personality.

MILLESIME 2012
The 2012 millennium was marked by slow and late vegetative development due to a very cool and humid spring. Stadium shifts due to widespread debris were partly corrected by the dry and sunny weather that began in mid-July. The testing and ripening were then provided with ideal conditions until harvest, the grapesining a perfect health status despite the succession of abers observed during the harvest.

Assembly Cabernet Sauvignon 74% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc 11%
Harvest Date From 4 to 18 October 2012
Degree: 13,09 %vol. -
Total Acidity: 3.82 gH2SO4/l - pH: 3.58 - IPT: 64

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Wafting from the glass with aromas of rich berries, plums, loamy soil, baking spices and pencil shavings, the 2012 Léoville Las Cases is medium to full-bodied, lively and layered, with impressive concentration for the vintage, supple tannins and a charming, enveloping profile. Seamless and beautifully integrated, at age 10, this quintessential classic is already surprisingly approachable, though of course it still has several decades of graceful evolution ahead of it.
