WINEMAKER NOTES
2023 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon – Iconic Napa Valley Cult Cabernet
The 2023 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon represents one of Napa Valley’s most coveted and tightly allocated wines. Produced from the estate vineyards in Oakville, Screaming Eagle has achieved legendary status among collectors for its precision, concentration, and limited annual production. The 2023 vintage continues this legacy with remarkable balance and structural clarity.
Tasting Notes
The nose reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, graphite, and violet. On the palate, the wine is layered and powerful, delivering concentrated dark fruit supported by finely textured tannins. Subtle notes of cocoa, cedar, and mineral tones unfold gradually, leading to a long, seamless finish that highlights depth and precision.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Produced primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Oakville’s well-drained alluvial soils, the wine undergoes careful lot selection and small-batch fermentation. Aging in French oak barrels refines the wine’s structure and aromatic complexity. The 2023 growing season provided favorable conditions for balanced ripening and concentrated fruit development.
Investment & Collectibility
Screaming Eagle remains one of the most recognized cult Cabernet producers in Napa Valley. Extremely limited production and sustained global demand make each release highly sought after by collectors. The 2023 vintage reinforces its reputation as a cornerstone for fine wine investment portfolios.
Vintage Insights & Accolades
The 2023 Napa Valley vintage delivered wines of concentration and freshness. In Oakville, optimal conditions resulted in Cabernet Sauvignon with clarity, structure, and long-term aging potential.
