Temperature Protection & Shipping Policy
At Angry Wine Merchant, we want every bottle to arrive in the same condition it left our cellar. Because wine is a perishable product, exposure to excessive heat, freezing temperatures, or significant temperature fluctuations during transit may adversely affect its condition.
To help protect your purchase, we monitor shipping conditions throughout the year and may recommend upgraded shipping services or delayed shipment when temperatures present an elevated risk.
Our Recommendations
For the safest delivery experience, we strongly recommend:
- Next Day Air service whenever available
- Shipping to a business address when practical
- Ensuring that an adult 21 years of age or older is available to receive the package on the first delivery attempt
- Avoiding shipment during periods of extreme heat or freezing temperatures
While expedited services can significantly reduce risk, no carrier can guarantee that wine will not be exposed to unfavorable temperatures while in transit.
Customer Acknowledgment
By placing an order and requesting shipment, you acknowledge that wine is temperature-sensitive and may be exposed to temperatures and transit conditions outside of Angry Wine Merchant's control.
When a customer elects to ship an order during periods of elevated temperature risk, the customer assumes responsibility for risks associated with temperature exposure, carrier delays, failed delivery attempts, carrier holds, and other transit-related events that may affect wine condition.
Delivery & Signature Requirements
Adult signature is required for all wine shipments.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that an adult recipient is available to accept delivery on the carrier's first delivery attempt. Additional time spent in delivery vehicles, carrier facilities, access points, or holding locations may increase the risk of temperature exposure.
Carrier tracking records and delivery scans shall constitute proof of delivery.
Returned Shipments & Reshipment Charges
Orders returned to Angry Wine Merchant due to failed delivery attempts, refusal of delivery, inability to obtain an adult signature, incorrect or incomplete address information, or customer-requested rerouting may be subject to return shipping charges, carrier fees, and reshipment costs.
Any reshipment charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Limitations of Responsibility
Angry Wine Merchant is not responsible for deterioration in wine condition resulting from temperature exposure, weather-related transportation disruptions, carrier delays, missed delivery attempts, carrier holds, or circumstances occurring after the shipment has been tendered to the carrier.
The absence of visible damage does not necessarily indicate that wine has not been affected by temperature exposure during transit.
