TERROIR
The Grand Enclos de Las Cases contains a lot of complexity. Originating mostly from graves of the Quaternary on gravel-sableous and gravelargileous underground, there are also more or less deep and compact clay, sometimes even affluent. The proximity of the Gironde is responsible for this great diversity of soils, created over the course of geological periods by successive superpositions. In addition, the river generates a very specific microclimate that allows for a very early ripening of the grapes and protects the vineyard from frostbite. This combination of geological combinations influences the development of the vineyard and the constitution of the grapes. This unparalleled terroir gives the great wine its unique personality.

MILLESIME 2019
The exceptional qualities of the Grand Clos terroir made it possible to overcome the climate excesses. The exit of the winter experienced mild temperatures, chaining onto a cool spring. The summer conditions were dry and warm, nevertheless in the decade averages. Vines benefited from good water stress relayed by good thermal amplitudes before harvesting, for optimal ripening andined acidity. Léoville Las Cases offers a shiny fruit with intense aromas, freshness, very tasty tannins and long, all for an exceptional storage capacity.

Assembly Cabernet Sauvignon 79% Merlot 11% Cabernet Franc 10%
Harvest Date From 18 September to 8 October 2019
Degree: 14,02 %vol. - Total Acidity: 3,38 gH2SO4/l - PH: 3,67 - IPT: 80

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The 2019 Léoville Las Cases is a brilliant young wine that will delight Bordeaux purists. Unwinding in the glass with scents of cassis, dark berries, cigar wrapper and pencil shavings, it’s full-bodied, layered and tightly wound, with a deep core of fruit, lively acids and an abundance of rich, powdery tannins. Concentrated and serious, much like its immediate neighbor Château Latour, it is likely to emerge as one of the vintage’s longest lived—and greatest—wines. Reviewed by: William Kelley, Issue date: August 2022. Drinking window: Drink Date: 2035 - 2065.
