WINEMAKER NOTES
2019 Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf – Textural Right Bank Expression
The 2019 Chateau Le Tertre Roteboeuf reflects the singular style of this small Saint Emilion estate led by the Mitjavile family. Known for low yields and a focus on texture and ripeness, the property produces wines that stand apart within the Right Bank. The 2019 vintage offers both concentration and composure, shaped by favorable growing conditions.
Tasting Notes
The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, plum, spice, and subtle floral tones. On the palate, the wine is layered and supple, offering concentrated dark fruit supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity. Notes of cocoa, licorice, and mineral tones develop through a long, polished finish that maintains both richness and precision.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
The blend is dominated by Merlot with a proportion of Cabernet Franc grown on clay and limestone soils. Vineyard practices emphasize low yields to enhance concentration, while fermentation in small vats preserves parcel character. Aging in French oak barrels integrates structure and texture. The 2019 growing season provided steady warmth and even ripening across Saint Emilion.
Investment & Collectibility
Chateau Le Tertre Roteboeuf remains a limited production estate with consistent demand among collectors. Its distinct style and scarcity support long-term interest. The 2019 vintage, from a widely regarded Bordeaux year, offers both near-term accessibility and continued development potential.
Vintage Insights & Accolades
The 2019 Bordeaux vintage produced wines of balance and depth. At Le Tertre Roteboeuf, these conditions resulted in a wine defined by concentration and structural harmony.
