Tasting Notes
The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, graphite, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, the wine is layered and powerful, delivering concentrated dark fruit supported by finely grained tannins. Notes of cocoa, cedar, and crushed stone develop through the mid-palate, leading to a long, seamless finish marked by balance and persistent depth.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Produced primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Rutherford’s well-drained alluvial soils, the wine is crafted through careful lot selection and small-batch fermentation. Aging in French oak barrels refines structure and integrates aromatic complexity. The 2013 growing season provided near-ideal conditions, allowing for even ripening and concentrated fruit development.
Investment & Collectibility
Scarecrow remains one of Napa Valley’s most recognized cult Cabernet producers, with limited production driving sustained global demand. The 2013 vintage is particularly valued for its structure and aging potential, reinforcing its position among collectors focused on top-tier Napa Valley wines.
