Croft, one of the oldest Port houses, is known for producing Vintage Ports that combine early accessibility with the structure required for long-term aging. The 2003 vintage offers both depth and generosity.
Tasting Notes
The nose reveals aromas of blackberry, plum, fig, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is rich and enveloping, delivering layers of ripe black fruit supported by firm tannins and balanced sweetness. Notes of spice, licorice, and dried fruit emerge through a long, warming finish with notable persistence.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Produced from traditional Douro varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, the wine is sourced from Croft’s estate vineyards. The 2003 growing season was marked by intense heat, resulting in concentrated fruit.
