Tasting Notes
The aromatics unfold with blackcurrant, plum, graphite, and cedar, layered with subtle notes of tobacco and dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet refined, showing dense dark fruit supported by polished, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity maintains balance and lift, carrying through a long, composed finish that continues to reveal complexity with age.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Cask 23 is crafted from a selection of the estate’s best Cabernet Sauvignon parcels, primarily from the S.L.V. and Fay vineyards. Low yields, meticulous sorting, and precise vinification ensure purity and depth. Aging in French oak barrels integrates structure and texture while preserving the vineyard-driven character that defines this cuvee.
