Winemaking and Vineyard Details
Clos de Tart is a historic 7.53-hectare Grand Cru monopole situated on the slopes of Morey-Saint-Denis. Enclosed by stone walls, the vineyard benefits from predominantly east-facing exposure and complex limestone-rich soils that contribute to the wine's structure, aromatic definition, and distinctive mineral character. The estate's carefully managed Pinot Noir vines occupy multiple parcels across the vineyard's varied elevations and soil profiles.
Under the direction of estate manager Alessandro Noli and winemaker Jacques Devauges, Domaine du Clos de Tart emphasizes precision viticulture and meticulous fruit selection. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before fermentation. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak carefully selected to complement the vintage while preserving the vineyard's distinctive terroir.
