WINEMAKER NOTES
2021 Hundred Acre Kayli Morgan/Morgan's Way – Napa Valley Cult Cabernet
The 2021 Hundred Acre Morgan's Way Cabernet Sauvignon is a singular expression from Jayson Woodbridge’s legendary Napa Valley estate. Planted in 1992 on gently rolling hills east of St. Helena, this site produces wines that are as opulent as they are precise. In 2021, an outstanding growing season yielded a Kayli Morgan of remarkable purity, concentration, and balance—cementing its place among California’s most coveted California Cult Wines.
Tasting Notes
Dense aromas of black cherry compote, violet, and cedar rise from the glass, joined by nuances of graphite, cocoa, and warm baking spice. The palate delivers layers of ripe dark fruit framed by fine-grained tannins, with remarkable mid-palate weight and a persistent, resonant finish. A modern Napa Cabernet that balances plush fruit with elegant structure.
Winemaking & Vineyard Details
Kayli Morgan Vineyard sits at an elevation of approximately 800 feet, rooted in gravelly loam soils that encourage low yields and concentrated berries. The 2021 vintage was harvested entirely by hand, fermented in small French oak fermenters, and aged in 100% new French oak barrels. Jayson Woodbridge’s meticulous “no compromise” approach ensures each block is vinified separately before final blending.
Investment & Collectibility
Hundred Acre wines consistently command strong demand in the secondary market, and Kayli Morgan is a cornerstone of the estate’s portfolio. The 2021 vintage, produced in limited quantities, is poised to be a long-lived collectible, appealing to serious Napa Valley enthusiasts and Rare Wine investors alike. Perfect for your collection.
Vintage Insights
2021 was a low-yield, high-quality vintage in Napa Valley. A dry growing season, moderated by cool nights and warm days, led to small, concentrated berries with excellent phenolic development. Kayli Morgan’s combination of site and meticulous farming resulted in a wine that will reward extended cellaring.
